About us
YOUTH SKATE PROGRAM
Push Movement offers a youth skateboarding program that focuses on teaching the fundamentals of skateboarding, meeting students where they are at in their skill level and helping them advance their knowledge of skateboarding, while providing a safe space to express themselves through movement- based recreation.
Skateboarding, true to its uniqueness, is a blend of sport and art for all ages unlike any other. It’s community engagement without the pressures of athleticism. It’s an exploration of creativity, a celebration of individuality, and a visible marker of achievement. When like-minded people come together to get moving, encourage their peers, and try new things – we feel a greater sense of self- worth and resilience to stress and trauma. It’s an open door to recovery, whether through cognitive and physical development, facilitating social expansion, or building emotional wherewithal. Studies even prove that people see an increase in emotional capacity and feelings of accomplishment, while reporting diminished feelings of sadness, depression, despair, anxiety, and frustration – all because they picked up a skateboard.
